Does The Year Book Picture Effect You?

Does your year book picture make you who you are? I personally hate my year book picture every year. Getting teased, made fun of, and humiliated where your whole school can see it is close to devastating. School pictures aren't always perfect, we know this. Yet we make fun of other kids, and it hurts - a lot.
My school posts year book pictures right near the main entrance and next to the office. Every student attending the school is glued up on the wall for everyone else to see. Last year, one girl's picture looked really bad. She was so embarrassed she refused to come to school for a day or two because everyone was commenting on it. Rumors went around that she was strung out on heroin when the picture was taken, and that she was being abused at home due to the dark circles around her eyes. This one, single picture affected the rest of her year at school. Has something like this ever happened to you, or one of your friends? Year book pictures are a big deal in middle school and high school. Especially if you are well known.
Pictures can also be a positive thing, not always negative. Year book pictures are for remembering who you were back at the time they were taken. I've noticed how much that I've changed throughout my middle school years. Now that I've reached high school, it amazes me how I've grown and changed. I look at old friends and new ones. I see kids I didn't even know went to our school. Then again, maybe other kid's may hate their year book pictures - and I'm the one looking back on them.
Groups in high school and middle school are a big part of your life during these crucial years. We all 'belong' somewhere, or we don't.  Sometimes school pictures puts you into a group or  somewhere that you don't necessarily want to be. Geeks, Jocks, Preps, and Goths are all remembered and their picture is placed in the one book that everyone sees.
So tell me guys, do you think the year book is a good thing or a bad thing? Everyone has their picture in it, everyone has an opinion. Should the school have the right to put your face out where everyone can see it? Or should they have your permission on which picture they use and where it goes?

Ray's Goin Down The Drain?

Everyone has heard of one of the funniest people on YouTube, Raywilliamjohnson. With 2,880,101 subscribers, this man has become one of the most watched people on YouTube. =3 is an Internet show where Ray reviews 3 popular Internet shows and does his own comedic spin on them. Tragically, in my opinion, they are getting less and less funny by the episode.
Raywilliamjohnson uses a lot of his jokes over and over again. The sexism jokes get old, and so does the troll. Nobody likes to be hated on all the time. You can be funny without being rude and stupid. Also, his 'comment questions' repeat themselves and the videos are getting more about getting your face shown on the video and not about actually asking a question.
Ray has most likely noticed that his shows are getting old and that is probably why he has made a new YouTube channel titled "Yourfavoritemartian" which is used for making songs about balls and zombies. This channel shows himself as a cartoon singing stupid songs to a catchy tune. Instead of sticking to the original "stalking your mom" he is trying to expand into the music industry too? Why does it seem like anyone who is popular on TV or the Internet has to double as a music artist? Nobody listens to half the crap that they do and then they are ridiculed for being so retarded. Selena Gomez? I mean seriously, nobody cares. Stick to your Disney Channel and shut your trap. Same with you Ray.

Wired Defeating Tired?

Is blogging journalism?  Questions like this are all over people's heads. I say no, blogging is NOT journalism. Blogging is writing for entertainment - the same as writing in a journal or composing poetry or a book. Blogging is popular with today's generation. Teenagers feel the need to share their personal thoughts with the internet, instead of with their friends and parents. Kids all over the world can view everything that is posted or uploaded onto the internet. Instead of having just one person see it, millions of people can see what you think and what you are saying - which is why more and more teens are turning to the internet for social connections.
Newspapers, news sites and a lot of journalists are angered by society's way of getting news. Blogging is one of the most popular ways to get news. Twitter, facebook and other websites have stolen the written paper's thunder. In my opinion, writings will always be around. No matter how much we use technology I think that we are smart enough to keep written documentation of important events just in case something happens to the way we use technology. We are smarter than to just let writing fall into the dust. 2012 or not, there should always be some kind of written record to be passed down through generations.

Disappointing Much?

Being someones idol is a responsibility. It shouldn't be a chore or a despise. Everyone has an idol of one kind or another. Mine, for example, is my favorite music artist - Amy Lee. Amy is the lead singer of the band Evanescence. I've been following her band for over 6 years.

Lately I've had a few 'negative' feelings toward the Gothic-rock band. See, my biggest problem is being updated. With this band its extremely hard to find reliable information on them. Last year I looked up when their next album would be published. When I researched this I got the result of Fall 2010. Sadly, they didn't exactly meet that dateline. They haven't updated their fan base and they haven't mentioned a new release date either.

Evanescence had two original founders, Ben Moody and Amy Lee. For a reason that is unknown to me at the moment, Ben left the band and Amy took charge. I'm not completely positive, but I think he left due to some personal issues with Amy. After several band members leaving, Amy is the only original person from the band. Which makes me think that everyone kind of left because of her for one reason or another. (Again this is my opinion, I don't know for sure) This makes me really disappointed because before I looked into all of this I really admired her. She was the one who was singing out through my darkest days. She was my hero, and now I feel a bit disgusted.

Anyways, back to the idol thing. She kind of let me down. I mean, the least you could do is let your fans know whats going on with the album. I really looked up to her. Her lyrics became a part of me almost as if it was me who was writing them. And seeing someone who just disappears into thin air is kinda sad. It's also really disappointing to find out the ugly truth behind something after you have already thought so highly of it.

So guys, I want  you to take a look at yourself really quick. Look at your family, little siblings, small cousins and maybe even little kids you babysit. Are you an idol? Is some kid out there looking up to you? You may not know it, but little kids are always looking for examples to follow. If your that kid's example then it's you that they are watching. Be careful about things you do or say that could affect them. Because YOU are someone's idol! :)

     Thanks for everything guys :)
