Is blogging journalism? Questions like this are all over people's heads. I say no, blogging is NOT journalism. Blogging is writing for entertainment - the same as writing in a journal or composing poetry or a book. Blogging is popular with today's generation. Teenagers feel the need to share their personal thoughts with the internet, instead of with their friends and parents. Kids all over the world can view everything that is posted or uploaded onto the internet. Instead of having just one person see it, millions of people can see what you think and what you are saying - which is why more and more teens are turning to the internet for social connections.
Newspapers, news sites and a lot of journalists are angered by society's way of getting news. Blogging is one of the most popular ways to get news. Twitter, facebook and other websites have stolen the written paper's thunder. In my opinion, writings will always be around. No matter how much we use technology I think that we are smart enough to keep written documentation of important events just in case something happens to the way we use technology. We are smarter than to just let writing fall into the dust. 2012 or not, there should always be some kind of written record to be passed down through generations.
